In the second week of our message series, "Next Door: The Art of Neighboring," we look at the value of knowing the names of our neighbors. Most Americans say that they don't know the name of any of their neighbors, and that leaves a lot of lonely people. In the Gospel Jesus reveals the name of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, so that we might know God. He wants us to know, and love, our neighbors.
We are beginning a new message series, "Next Door: The Art of Neighboring." The basic idea is that despite our reasons for living where we do, God has his own reasons for putting us in the neighborhood we are in. We are called to witness to his love and grace. This series will suggest some ways in which we can do that.
As we conclude our Easter message series, "Love Lives," we look at one final aspect of love: love is sacrificial. It is fitting that we look at this aspect of love, because today is also Mother's Day, and who has been a better witness of sacrificial love in our lives than our mom?
