Lifting up his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed saying: “I pray not only for these, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, so that they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.” – John 17:20-23
Jesus prayed for all his disciples, current and future. He prayed for unity, that all disciples would be united with Jesus and the Father. The Holy Spirit is the one who enables us to be unified with the Father and Son as we think with the mind of Christ, love with the heart of Christ, and work with the power of Christ (the Holy Spirit). This unity would help the world know and believe that Jesus was sent by the Father to do the work the Father gave him to do. When people look at us, they should be able to see that Jesus is real, he is alive, and we are fulfilling his mission to testify to the Father’s love.
Ask the Holy Spirit how you can be more unified with the Father and Son and help the people around you believe in Jesus.
