And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior”.
Lk 1:46
Christmas is a magnifier. If things are going well in your life, Christmas tends to magnify that goodness. Unfortunately, the opposite is also true. If you are struggling, Christmas season may make the struggle seem more intense.
Rather than focusing on yourself this Christmas, on what you have and what you are, try focusing on Christ. We are told to magnify him, to glorify him. What does that mean? Among other things, magnify simply means to make bigger. What if you made God a bigger part of your life? Not just during Christmas season, but every day. Allow his goodness, his will, his grace, and his truth to change your life.
I want to focus on you, Lord. Let my soul magnify your presence as I reflect on the miracle of the birth of your Son Jesus, fully man and fully God.
