No more shall people call you “Forsaken” or your land “Desolate,” but you shall be called “My Delight,” and your land “Espoused.”

Isaiah 63:4

God identifies some of the bad names that people are calling Jerusalem. God knows that people are saying it is desolate — that there is nothing there, that it is forsaken, that God has abandoned it. But God is going to transform the city of Jerusalem so that people will call it “My Delight.” The world will see God’s care and concern for the city.

God knows the names you have been called. He knows how people want to define you by your failures. God knows those names and calls you by a new name. He is bringing about your vindication. 

Listen again today for the name God wants to give you. Give yourself a minute of quiet to simply listen. Then, throughout the day, be on the lookout for signs that this is your name.
