“Nations shall behold your vindication, and all the kings your glory; you shall be called by a new name pronounced by the mouth of the Lord.”

Isaiah 62:2

The Messiah will give the people a new name, which stands for a new nature and new possibilities. Too often, we can be defined by our past sins and mistakes — either by ourselves or by others. Maybe there are some negative names you hear in your head over and over again. 

God does not want those names circling in your head. God wants to give you a new name. God wants to write a new story. He wipes away the past and gives a new name to us. Our role is to accept the new name and to grow into it by the way we live our lives.
