Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away.
Mark 13:31

Jesus tells his followers the world will pass away. We see this as the systems and structures of each generation fall apart. People once belonged to churches out of obligation or a fear of going to hell, or because it was what was expected if you wanted to be a good person. That is no longer the case.

But we are not called to base our faith on systems and structures.  Jesus says we should follow the unchanging word of God – Jesus, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

The foundation of our faith is the person of Jesus Christ and his resurrection. Say a prayer of thanks today for Jesus, who came to redeem us all. Thank him for your faith and for all the blessings in your life.
