He says, “And then they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory, and then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the end of the sky.”

Son of Man was Jesus’ favorite way of describing himself because the term captured both his humanity and his divine power. But pay attention to Jesus’ words and the mission he gives us: Jesus sends us, his followers, out into the world.

We are Jesus’ messengers. We are sent out into the world to bring people into a relationship with him. Growing closer to him and encouraging others to follow him are at the heart of these words.

Pray today for all Jesus’ followers who are working to share his Good News throughout the world. Pray that they will find willing hearts ready to listen.
