When the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together, and one of them, a scholar of the law tested him by asking, “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. That is the first and the greatest commandment.”
Matthew 22:34-38
A teacher of the law challenges Jesus with a question that was greatly debated at that time: Which is the greatest of all the commandments? Jesus simply responds that the whole point of the law is to love God with our whole being.
We express love for God when we join the mission, he gave his Son. Five different times Jesus told his disciples and followers to go out into the world and make disciples. Each time, he promised that he would be with them. God is with us in a special way when we make his mission our mission.
Take a moment to tell God that you love him with your whole heart, your whole soul, and your whole mind. Let him know that you want his mission to be your mission.
