We are calling our current series “Staying Power,” which means the ability to maintain activity or commitment despite difficulties or obstacles that might arise. It is the capacity to continue without weakening and to push past distractions. Staying power means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long after the mood of the moment has left you.
Our bottom line is that you grow spiritually by the commitments you make and keep. In order to grow as a follower of Christ, you must commit to some spiritual practices and habits. But it is not enough to make them — you need to keep them and hold fast to them because spiritual growth takes time.
Pray today for the grace to make a commitment to spiritual growth and to keep it.
