Jesus said, “He said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me.   Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations”
Matthew 28:18

Jesus came to renew and restore creation by making disciples, by bringing people into a growing relationship with him. This is why the universal Church exists. It exists to renew and restore creation by bringing human beings into a growing relationship with Jesus.
And while there is a huge universal call to renew and restore all of creation and to make disciples of all nations, our responsibility as a parish is to make that work as specific as possible.

Nothing becomes dynamic until it becomes specific. And so, while the work of the universal Church is to renew and restore creation by making people of the whole world disciples or followers of Jesus Christ, our job is to reach the people in our neighborhoods. We are to lead people to Jesus so that he can renew and restore them. As people connect with Jesus, they will be able to better connect with one another.

Tell Jesus today that you accept his power and authority to accomplish his mission. Tell Jesus that you will lead people into a growing relationship with him.
