And his sister stood at a distance to know what would be done to him. Now the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river, and her maidens walked beside the river; she saw the basket among the reeds and sent her maids to fetch it. When she opened it, she saw the child; and behold, the baby was crying. She took pity on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrew’s children.”
Exodus 2:4-6
Moses’ mother does all she can to save him by putting him in a basket and placing him in the Nile River. Moses is receiving further help by the daughter of Pharaoh. She happens to be bathing in the river when she sees the basket and takes pity on the baby and draws him out of the water.
When we were far from God and helpless as a baby, God had pity on us and sent his son to die for us. Like Moses we have all been saved by the mercy of God. God saves us from sin, but he also saves us for a great calling.
Thank God today that he sent Jesus to save you. Thank you that he doesn’t just save you from sin but for a greater purpose.
