“Abraham, Abraham! Do not lay your hand on the boy,” said the angel. “Do not do the least thing to him. For now, I know that you fear God, since you did not withhold from me your son, your only one.”

Genesis 22:11-12

When Abraham is about to sacrifice his son Isaac, God stops him by sending an angel. Abraham has eventually come to have complete and total trust in God. Throughout his life, God took Abraham on a journey to this place of total faith. 

The same journey God intended for Abraham; he intends for us. He is leading us on a journey so that our confidence and trust in him can grow and grow. This means that God will take us places that don’t always make sense to us. At all times, we have an opportunity to grow in faith and trust in God.
