In the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, when no plant of the field was yet of the earth and no herb of the field had yet spring up – for the Lord God had not cause it to rain upon the earth and there was no man to till the ground; but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.
Genesis 2:4b – 6
In the first account of creation, we are told that God made the heavens and the earth. In the second account of creation changes the order. It teaches us that God made the earth and the heavens. The reversal of the two words emphasizes that God is close to his creation and not watching creation from a distance. God gets involved in his creation.
The verses above tell us, “there was no man to till the ground.” These lines show that God has created the earth with humanity and mind. The whole earth has been created with human beings in mind.
Thank God that he is not distant but close to his creation. Pray today that you will remember that God is close to you.
