Then God said: Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate day from night. Let them mark the seasons, the days and the years, and serve as lights in the dome of the sky, to illuminate the earth. And so it happened.
Then God said: Let the water teem with an abundance of living creatures, and on the earth let birds fly beneath the dome of the sky.
Then God said: Let the earth bring forth every kind of living creature: tame animals, crawling things, and every kind of wild animal. And so it happened.
Genesis 1:14-15, 20, 24
In the first three days of creation, God creates order and structure. He creates realms. In the second three days of creation, he creates something to fill the space in those realms. He creates the sun, moon and stars to fill the heavens. He creates birds to fill the sky. He creates fish to fill the sea. And he creates animals to fill the earth.
All of the creation is prelude to God creating humanity. God is creating the perfect environment for the crown of his creation. He sets up this perfect environment out of love. God is a loving Father who wants to set up his children for success.
Thank God today for the beauty and goodness of creation.
