Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the first born of all creation; for in him all things were created in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities – all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:15-17
Philosophers often wrestle with the question of why there is something instead of nothing. Why do we even have an earth and creation? Colossians answers the question. God has always existed and decided to create the world through his Son and for his Son.
It is through Jesus that the whole earth holds together and has its purpose. God creates the earth and creates us not out of any need but out of pure gift and love.
Thank God today that he created the earth and created you out of love.
