Often, we treat the book of Genesis like a fairy tale and like a children’s story because many of us learned about Genesis as children. We learned about it at the same time we were hearing stories about Little Red Riding hood or Goldilocks and the Three bears.  Since we have never engaged the book on an intellectual level as adults, we still view the story as a fairy tale rather than understanding the important truths Genesis conveys.

In the next few weeks, we are going to look at the deeper truths conveyed in the first eleven chapters of the book of Genesis. Through a careful reading of Genesis, we can come to a better understanding of our human condition and how Christianity offers a solution to the problems we encounter.
