The man gave names to all the cattle, all the birds of the air, and all the wild animals. But none proved to be the suitable partner for the man.
Genesis 2: 20
In the act of creation, God filled the earth with all kinds of creatures. Although the animals serve a purpose in our world, they are not enough. We need other people. God knew Adam needed a companion, that he needed another human relationship, but Adam didn’t know it or recognize the void in his own life. Only when God gave him the task of naming the animals did Adam realize his need for another human being.
We were created to be in relationship with one another. God wants to put people around you who can give you the wisdom you lack or help you shoulder your burdens. Sometimes, though, finding the right relationships take trial and error.
Are there parts of your life where you are waiting for the right person? Have you learned anything from the process of trial and error? Ask God for friends to help you build a strong character, so you may draw closer to Jesus. Ask God to help you always love your friends.
