Then the Lord God said: “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a suitable partner for him.”

Genesis 2:18

It is not good for us to be alone. Even God is not alone. God is a community of three persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. These three persons love and glorify one another for all eternity. And, even though Adam had a good relationship with God, that was not enough.

Spiritual growth requires more than just a good relationship with God. You will not grow closer to God and you will not become the person God has created you to be by just praying or fasting. Those are essential, but they are not enough. To grow as a follower of Christ, you need relationships with other people.
