We are looking at James, chapter 4, this week. A leader in the early Church, James preaches about how our faith in Jesus should influence our behavior. James focuses on the connection between being a follower of Jesus and living in the world. He says our purpose in life is not to make sure we have enough. Our real purpose is to follow Jesus. Whenever we start worrying about enough, we have stopped following. If you believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Lord, then you believe that following him will lead you on the right paths. Jesus will lead you to a place of abundance where your cup overflows.
 
Jesus invites everyone — not just the so-called church people or religious people — into a relationship with him. Try on his teachings and see if your life improves. See if following Jesus is a better way to live than constantly struggling to have enough in every area of your life.
