And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and enable your servants to speak your word with all boldness, as you stretch forth [your] hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” As they prayed, the place where they were gathered shook, and they were all filled with the holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:29-31
Acts of the Apostles tells us that the disciples Peter and John are arrested for preaching about Jesus. The authorities release them and tell them to stop speaking about Jesus. Peter and John refuse to make that promise but the authorities still release them.
Peter and John report back to the rest of the disciples what happened to them. They recognize that they are part of God’s larger plan that he had established since the beginning of the world. In telling others about Jesus, they are part of what the almighty maker of heaven and earth is doing. They then pray for the boldness to speak God’s word.
Pray today for the boldness to invite others to church. Thank the almighty maker of heaven and earth that he invites you to be part of his work and efforts.
