For if the dead are not raised, neither has Christ been raised, and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is in vain; you are still in your sins. Then those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are the most pitiable of all. But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep.
1 Corinthians 15:16-18
Paul says we are pretty pathetic and sad if we only believe in Jesus for this world. It makes no sense to follow a man whose life ended in a tragic death through the most painful way possible. Why follow someone who lost? But Jesus didn’t lose. He won. He conquered the grave. He is the first but he is not the last. Everyone else who lives in Christ will rise from the dead and can have victory in Christ.
The good news of the Gospel is that what was produced in Jesus’ life can happen in our life. The same power that raised Jesus from the grave is available to us. It has the power to raise our dead dreams to life. It has the power to raise to life our dead hearts and souls. It has the power to raise to life our dead relationships.
Pray for the grace to embrace the power of the resurrection so you have the motivation to invest in others so they come into a relationship with Jesus.
