But if Christ is preached as raised from the dead, how can some among you say there is no resurrection of the dead. 

 

1 Corinthians 15:12

 

In some way it came to Paul’s attention that some of the Corinthians were denying the resurrection of the dead.. The group of Corinthians who said there was no resurrection the dead were not saying there was no afterlife, that there was no heaven. They were simply buying into a popular belief of the Greco Roman world that the afterlife or heaven would bring liberation from our bodies. Jesus didn’t just rise spiritually he rose physically. 

 

Jesus’ physical resurrection means our transformation can happen right now. We don’t have to wait until we die to connect with God. We can experience his healing and wholeness in our bodies as well. It means we have access to God’s grace through our physical world. 

 

Thank God today that he wants to heal you and make you whole right now. Pray for the one person you are investing and inviting to come to church. Pray they would know God’s healing in this world.
