The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified their flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also follow the Spirit. Let us not be conceited, provoking one another, envious of one another.
Galatians 5:22-26
The experience of feeling alienated from our own selves is a major source of loneliness, when our thoughts, feelings, and spirit are divided and at odds. We don’t feel at home in our own skin. Ultimately, the kind of care with which God wants us to live results in a fruitful spirit. Loneliness and separation is not a fruit of the spirit. The fruit of a well taken care of spirit are those listed here by St. Paul.
Which of the fruits that Paul lists do you feel you need most? Today, pray to experience that fruit more fully in your life.
