So whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come.
2 Cor 5:17
If you live in Christ, a new beginning is always possible. Not starting and not finishing are two of the biggest mistakes in life. You will not always succeed and there will be setbacks; but, if you open yourself for God’s authority in your life, good things will happen. Don’t concentrate on the past. While you cannot undo the past, you can start a new habit that could dramatically improve your future.
What story do you want to tell five years from now? What story do you think God wants you to tell? Based on what you believe God wants you to want, what do you need to change in your life? What new habits or disciplines do you need to start doing? Don’t let the task intimidate you. God will help you out. Vincent van Gogh said, “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” A small step today can make a huge difference.
Ask God to show you how he wants you to grow this year. Ask him for wisdom in the discernment of focusing your habits and choices.
