And day by day, by attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they partook of food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
Acts 2:46-47
Jesus established the Church to be a movement. He established it to impact the world and bring more and more people into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We see this played out in the Acts of the Apostles. The leaders of the early Church had generous hearts that praised God and won over people. Every day the Church grew in people who were saved through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The more people who are living for Jesus Christ, the greater impact we can have together as a Church. The kingdom of God is built by winning people into a relationship with Christ, where Jesus becomes their Lord and savior. As more people live for Jesus, the greater the transformation of our community and our world.
Pray that our parish would be like the Church described in Acts 2. Pray that we would have generous hearts and that God would add to our numbers.
