This is the second week of the series we are calling “Cornerstone.” Throughout this series, we will look at the foundational principles of our parish. This week, we look at the importance of grace. The Church is most appealing when grace is most apparent. Grace means “unmerited favor.” It is pure gift. You can’t earn it and you can’t buy it — you can only receive it.
Jesus established the Church to be the chief champion of grace. The Church reminds us that we are all in need of God’s grace and mercy. None of us deserves God’s good gifts, but he offers them to us anyway.
Pray today that our parish’s culture would be infused with grace. Pray that we would be a community that extends grace and mercy to all.
