The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not covet,” and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Romans 13:9
Paul refers to the Ten Commandments here. He refers to just a few of the final seven which have to do with love of others. Paul teaches that the last seven can be summed up by saying, “love your neighbor as you would love and care for yourself.”
Our ability to love and care for others depends for our ability to love ourselves. We love ourselves because God has loved us and shows how much he values us by sending his Son to die for us.
Pray for the grace today to love yourself so that in turn you can love others.
