Elijah said to her, “Do not be afraid. Go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake and bring it to me. Afterwards you can prepare something for yourself and your son.14 For the LORD, the God of Israel, says: The jar of flour shall not go empty, nor the jug of oil run dry, until the day when the LORD sends rain upon the earth.”
1 Kings 17-13-14
Elijah tells the widow, “Do not be afraid,” God will provide for you. You help me, and God will help you. Trust and obey and you will receive God’s promise.
Do you trust God? Is it hard for you to accept that letting God into your heart and allowing him to guide your decisions will result in a deeper relationship with him?
Think about all your explanations for why you are not letting God into your life. Think of all the opportunities you have each day to invite God into your decisions. Ask the Holy Spirit to be with you and take away any fear you have.
