This week, we are meeting the prophet Elijah in 1 Kings:17.  Elijah’s ministry to the northern kingdom of Israel was to lead the people away from their pagan gods. In this story of the poor widow, we see how the act of trusting the Lord with all we have — possessions and money — can lead to a richer, fuller life. While it is difficult for some to let go of worrying over money, holding on to it controls us and robs us of the life Jesus has called us to live.
