I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with the human race. He will dwell with them and they will be his people and God himself will always be with them. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away.” The one who sat on the throne said, “Behold I make all things new.”


Revelation 21:3-5


The book of Revelation looks to the end of time. In the end, God will wipe away every tear and there will be no more death or suffering because the old order will pass away. The new world God is creating will be complete. Jesus makes all things new.


As we look at our sin-stained world, it can be easy to become bitter or cynical. The sin and selfishness of this world gets really old. As followers of Christ, we believe that ultimately God is creating a new heaven and a new earth. The old will pass. The new and fresh things of God are coming and have already been set in motion by Christ’s resurrection.


Pray today that God will continue to renew you so that you don’t get bitter or cynical. Pray for the grace to see the new world God is creating right now.
